Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Azure, a pile wavy Argent.  Attached below and to the sides of the shield a Silver scroll inscribed "OLD FAITHFUL" in Black letters.

Symbolism
The shield is blue for Infantry.  The pile wavy symbolizes "Old Faithful," the noted geyser in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, to which state the 415th Infantry was allocated in 1922.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 415th Infantry Regiment on 2 March 1927.  It was redesignated for the 415th Regiment on 16 August 1960.

That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve:  From a wreath Argent and Azure, the Lexington Minute Man Proper.  The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor) stands on the Common in Lexington, Massachusetts.
